Applying is free and takes about 3 minutes. You pay $300 only once you are accepted. The Pricing page shows what Starter, the full course and extra placements each include.
Two ways to start
With Google. On the "For students" page, press "Apply now" at the top. Google asks you to choose an account, then the form opens with your name and email filled in. The email field then reads "Email (from your Google account)" and cannot be changed. If that is not you, press "Sign out" in the line at the top of the form.
With your email. Open "Apply" in the footer, or "Apply now" in the "For students" menu, and fill in the form that opens. The same form is at the foot of the "For students" page.
Already on Starter?
If you started free, apply from the same account: press "Apply for the full course" in the course menu or on a locked lesson. The form opens with your name and email filled in and says your application joins your free account. Your progress and your questions to the mentor carry over. Module 1 stays open while we decide, and the rest of the course opens once you are accepted and have paid. See Starter: try the course free.
The form
Required:
- "Your name"
- "Email"
- "I am a": Student, Homemaker returning to work, Working professional or Other
- "Hours I can give per day"
- The box "I have read the Intern Agreement and the refund policy." Both links open in a new tab, so you can read them first.
Optional:
- "Phone or WhatsApp" and "City"
- "Your background (optional)": years of work experience, your current or most recent role, and your industry. It helps us match you with a business that fits, and is never shown anywhere on its own.
- "What would you build if you could build anything?" One or two lines is fine.
Press "Apply now" at the foot of the form.
What you see next
"Application received. We will email you within 2 working days to set up a short call." You also get an email confirming we have your application.
If something goes wrong
- "An application with this email already exists." You have applied before with that email. Check your inbox for our earlier email.
- "You can apply again from …" or "You have already applied twice. Write to us if something has changed." See "Applying again" below.
- "This account is already part of the programme." You are signed in with an account that is not an applicant, for example a business account. Sign out to apply with a different email.
- "Some answers need attention." A field is marked in red with what to fix.
Applying again
If we were not able to offer you a place, you can apply once more, from 24 hours after our email. Sign in with the same email (or use the same email on the form), and the form opens with your earlier answers filled in, to change. Tell us what has changed since. A new application is read afresh; it is not a promise of a place.
- Before the 24 hours are up, the form says "You can apply again from" the date and time, in UTC. Your application page and the guide say the same.
- After a second application, there is no third: the form says "You have already applied twice. Write to us if something has changed."
Where it leads
You apply for the whole path: the course, your capstone, then an unpaid internship of 1 to 3 months with a US business. When the internship is completed, the business can offer to keep you on a paid monthly retainer through us, of which you keep 80%. It is the business's choice, so it is a chance, not a promise. See Retainers in plain words.
