Privacy and your data

What we collect, who sees it, which services handle it, how long we keep it, and how to see, correct or delete it.

The Privacy policy is under "Privacy" in the footer and the "Agreements" menu, or at /privacy. It is written in plain language. This page points you to the parts people ask about most.

What we collect

Only what each part of the programme needs: your application or project form, the AI interview if you take it, what you do in the course, your capstone and its review, your messages to the AI mentor, and your internship status and outcome. The policy lists each one under "What we collect and why".

To stop misuse of Start free, each try records a scrambled code made from the email address and the network, never the address itself. Those records are deleted after 7 days.

When you accept an agreement (applying, posting a project, starting free, the NDA, a retainer), we keep a signed copy: the agreement with your name, the time, and the network (IP) address and browser the acceptance came from, as evidence of who accepted what and when. Signed copies are kept after an account is deleted, as the record of what was agreed.

Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Who sees it

The people who run AI Harness Labs see what they need to run the programme. When a learner is matched with a business, each side sees the other's name, email and the project brief. We do not sell your information.

The AI parts

The AI mentor (under the lessons and on the internship page), the capstone review and the business interview are run by an AI model provider named in the policy. Your messages, brief, capstone or interview answers are sent to it only to produce a reply, a review or proposals. Under the lessons it gets your first name, your recent questions and its replies, and the course's lesson titles, not your email address. Never paste passwords, keys or customers' personal data into them.

The guide on public pages does not ask for personal details. Please do not type them there.

Businesses that connect an account

If a business connects Google for an intern's agent, the access is stored encrypted and used only for the requests the owner allowed. The intern never sees the password. The record of what the agent asked to do cannot be edited by anyone and is deleted after 24 months.

Being shown on the site

Learners and businesses can each choose to be shown next to completed work. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. Learners can also switch on a public page of their own; it is off until they do.

Counting visits

We count visits ourselves, in our own database, with no outside analytics service and no tracking cookie. When a page opens, it tells us the page, the site that sent you (its name only), any campaign tags in the link, whether you use a computer, phone or tablet, and your country. To count people rather than pages, the server makes an anonymous code from your network address and browser together with a random value that changes every day, so you are a new visitor each day and nobody can link your visits across days. Your address and browser are not stored. The visit records are deleted after 13 months.

With Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on in your browser, nothing is counted. The admin area is never counted.

When you start free, apply, post a project, start the interview or pay, we note where you came from (the campaign tags and the referring site of your first and latest visit, and a friend's referral code) on what you created, so we know which channels bring people. Only you and we can see it.

Cookies

The policy lists every cookie under "Cookies", with what it is for and how long it lasts. In short:

  • Signing in: keeps you signed in until you sign out, at most 400 days. A second one lives only while a sign-in is under way.
  • Where you came from: set on your first visit or when a link carries campaign tags or a referral code. It holds those tags, the referring site's name, the first page and a friend's referral code, no id. It lasts 90 days. With Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control on, it keeps only a referral code, because your friend's discount depends on it.
  • Your theme: only if you choose Light or Dark. It lasts a year, and choosing System removes it.
  • The guide on public pages: a random id that counts your questions against the daily limit. It lasts 30 days.
  • Connecting Google (business owners only): checks Google's answer. It lasts 10 minutes.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser also keeps your theme, the side you chose in the guide and whether you have opened the guide on your device; those are not sent to us.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it or delete it: write to hello@aiharnesslabs.com. We keep payment records we are required to keep.

You can correct your own details yourself on your account page: press your name at the top right once you are signed in. On a free Starter account you can also delete the account yourself: "Delete your account" on "Your account" deletes it with your progress, your questions to the mentor and any application, at once. See Your account.

  • What the agreements say, in plain words

The Intern Agreement, the refund policy, the Business Agreement, the Mutual NDA, and the Retainer and Contractor Agreements, each in a few lines, and where to read the full text.

  • Refunds

When the course fee, and each extra placement's fee, comes back to you in full, when it does not, and how to ask.

  • Your account

Your name, phone and city, your refunds, withdrawing, the agreements you accepted with their versions, where you are in the programme, signing out everywhere, and on Starter deleting your account.

  • Starter: try the course free

A free account with module 1 in full and a preview lesson from every other module, with no application and no payment. Apply later from the same account and keep your progress.
