The AI mentor coaches; you build. You find it in two places: "Ask the AI mentor" under every lesson during the course, and "Your mentor" on your internship page during the internship.
During the course
Under each lesson you can open, "Ask the AI mentor" takes questions about the lesson in front of you. It knows which lesson you are on and the titles of every module and lesson.
- Type into "Your question": what you ran, what you expected and what happened.
- Press "Ask". The button reads "The mentor is thinking" while it works.
It is one conversation for the whole course, so your recent questions show under every lesson. On the full course you can ask 40 questions a day; on a free Starter account, 5. The line beside the button says how many are left today, and the count resets at midnight UTC. Questions you asked on Starter carry over when you join the full course. See Working through a lesson.
If it says "The AI mentor is not switched on yet", reply to any email from us with your question.
During the internship
On your internship page, "Your mentor" knows your brief, your check-ins and the course. The chat is open while your internship is matched or in progress. Once the internship is closed, you can still read the conversation, but you cannot ask anything new.
If the page says "The AI mentor is not switched on yet", write to your business contact, or write to hello@aiharnesslabs.com.
- Type into "Your question", or press one of the example questions to start from it.
- Include the input, what you expected and what happened.
- Press "Send". The button reads "The mentor is thinking" while it works.
What it does well
- Explains the idea behind a lesson in plain words.
- Helps you find the smallest version you can ship this week.
- Helps you work out why something fails.
- Suggests one or two small next steps.
- Asks you for specifics when your question is vague.
What it will not do
- Build it for you. It coaches, and you are responsible for what you hand over.
- Decide for the owner. Scope, priorities, deadlines, accounts, data access and credentials are the business owner's call. Write to them for those.
- Help with anything on the "Never automated" list. That list is a hard boundary.
- Talk about other trainees, other businesses or personal details.
- Invent facts about the business.
- Promise you a place, a job or an income.
It can be wrong. Check what it tells you before you rely on it. Never paste the business's passwords, keys or customers' personal data into it.
The daily limits
The two chats count separately. During the internship you can ask 40 questions a day per internship; under the lessons, 40 a day on the full course or 5 on Starter. Each count resets at midnight UTC. When you reach a limit, the chat says so. Until then, write to your business contact or note the question in your check-in.
Not the guide
The guide (the "Your next step" button) answers what to do next on the site. Questions about the work itself belong here.
