Paying for the course

You pay $300 once, after you are accepted. It covers the course, the mentor and one internship placement. Nothing else is required. Want more depth? You can add extra placements at other businesses, $50 each, up to 3 placements in all, when you pay or later. The Pricing page sets every plan side by side: Starter (free), the full course, and extra placements.

Open the payment page

Press "Pay and start" in your acceptance email, or sign in and you land on it. The page says "Hi", your first name, and "Pay $300 and start today."

With a friend's referral code

If you came with a friend's referral link or code (it shows as "A friend's referral code is saved" on Start free, the application and the pricing page), the payment page lists the "Programme fee", "Referral discount" with the code and the amount, and "You pay". The heading and the button show the lower amount, and that is what Stripe charges. Paying by bank transfer, the same discount comes off. The code must be used before you pay; see Referring a friend.

How many businesses

Above the button, "How many businesses?" lists 1 business (the fee alone) up to 3, each with its total. One is chosen unless you pick another; the button then shows that total. If you chose a number of businesses on the Pricing page and pressed "Go to payment", that number is already chosen, and marked "(your choice)" when online payment is not switched on. You can still change it before you pay. See Extra placements at other businesses.

Pay by card

1. Press "Pay $300 by card" (or the total you picked). The button reads "Opening secure checkout" while it works.
2. You are taken to Stripe, our payment provider. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted, charged in US dollars.
3. Finish paying on Stripe. You come back to the payment page.

Paying from India? Switch on international transactions for your card in your bank's app before you start.

After you pay

The page changes to "Paid" and "You are in", with "Go to the course". You also get the email "Payment received. You are in at AI Harness Labs" with a "Start the course" button.

Started free? Your Starter account becomes a full course account: every lesson opens, and your progress and your questions to the AI mentor carry over.

If you come back from Stripe before it has confirmed the payment, the page says "Stripe has not confirmed the payment yet." It checks again by itself every 20 seconds, so you can leave it open.

If the payment did not go through

• "Checkout was cancelled. Nothing was charged; you can try again whenever you like."
• "Your last payment attempt did not go through. Nothing was charged." The page shows when the last attempt started.
• "A checkout window is still open from" a time. If you finished paying, the page updates in a minute; otherwise start again.

In each case the button reads "Try again: pay $300 by card". Every press starts a fresh, secure checkout.

Bank transfer

If online payment is not switched on, the page says "Online payment is not switched on yet. Reply to your acceptance email and we will send bank transfer details." Once your transfer arrives, we record it by hand and you get the same "Payment received" email and access to the course.

Refunds

Within 14 days of paying, if you have not completed the second module, you can withdraw for a full refund with "Withdraw and get a refund" on "Your account". The fee also comes back in full if we cannot offer you an internship within 90 days of your capstone approval. Refunds go back the way you paid, and are listed on "Your account". See Refunds.
