Before your intern's agent can do anything, you connect an account it may work through. You connect it once; the agent never sees the password or the access. Open "Agents" in the dashboard menu. The ways to connect are tiles under "Connected accounts".
Gmail and Google Calendar
- On the "Gmail and Google Calendar" tile, press "Connect Google".
- Google asks you to choose an account and agree.
- You come back to the Agents page: "Gmail is connected."
The agent can then write drafts, search and read mail and see your calendar, if you tick those on its token. It can send messages or add events only when you approve each one, unless you give it a standing permission once it is live.
If Google says no, nothing is connected. If the tile says "Connecting Gmail is not switched on for this site yet", use a copy-and-paste inbox meanwhile.
Copy-and-paste inbox
No password at all. The agent writes drafts and suggests events on your Agents page, and you copy them into your own email and calendar.
- On the "Copy-and-paste inbox" tile, type a name in "Name for a copy-and-paste inbox", such as "Shared inbox".
- Press "Add".
Drafts and approved events then appear under "Drafts and events to copy". Copy each one into your email or calendar, then press "Done, I copied it".
Your own web address
For a sheet, a form or a tool of yours that accepts posts, such as Zapier, Make, Google Apps Script or your own system. The agent can only ask to send it information, and you approve every post.
- On the "Your own web address" tile, fill in "Name" and "Web address". It must start with https:// and be reachable on the public internet.
- Press "Add the address".
- Copy the signing secret straight away: it is shown only once. Keep it in your system's settings, not in a shared document. Your system uses it to check each post came from us.
QuickBooks, Square, HubSpot or Jobber
Under "Your business systems", each has its own tile: tick what the agent may do, then connect. Every change it asks for there waits for your approval. See Connecting QuickBooks, Square, HubSpot or Jobber.
Your connected accounts
Each one is listed with its kind, when it was connected, what it allows, and "Account id for the agent", which your intern needs.
To remove one, press "Disconnect" and agree. The agent loses access at once, and for Google we ask Google to withdraw the access too. If the page says Google did not confirm, remove the access in your Google account's security settings as well.
Send a test
Once an intern is matched, their agent's card has "Send a test". It sends a test draft (or a test post, for a web address) through the gateway as if the agent had asked. It always waits for your approval, and we email you about it. Use it to see exactly what an approval looks like before the agent sends anything real.
If you have no connected account yet, the card says "Connect an account to send a test."
