Referring your intern

Once an internship is completed, you can refer your intern to another business in one click. We email them a link to a page with the intern's work, and they can get in touch with the intern directly.

Send a referral

1. Open the project from your projects page.
2. Scroll to "Refer" and your intern's first name "to another business".
3. Fill in "Their email". "Their name (optional)", "Their business (optional)" and "A short note (optional)" help the email read well.
4. Press "Send referral with proof of work".

The page says "Sent to" their address and "We told the intern too."

What they get

An email saying you recommend the intern, with your note and a "See" the intern's "work" button. The button opens a page, with no login needed, that shows:

• you and your business (not your email),
• how the internship ended and its dates,
• the brief the intern worked to,
• how many weekly check-ins they posted, with the latest three,
• their capstone,
• your outcome note and reference letter, if you added them,
• a "Contact" button with the intern's email.

The intern is told

The intern gets an email each time, with who you referred them to. They can take the page down at any time.

Your referrals

"Referrals sent" lists each one with when it was sent and whether it has been opened. "See the page they got" opens it. To take one down, press "Revoke", then "Yes, take the page down". The page and the letter link stop working at once.

Limits

• Only completed internships can be referred. One that ended early cannot.
• 10 referrals a day. The count resets at midnight UTC.
• 25 referrals per internship. Reply to any email from us if you need more.

If the email to the other business does not go out, the page gives you the link to send yourself.
