Starting from an app idea or a workflow

Start a project from an app idea on "Build instead of renting" or a design in the workflow library. Such projects are matched with an intern automatically once approved and their facts confirmed.

You can start a project from one of our app ideas or workflow designs instead of a blank page. Projects that start this way are matched with an intern automatically once you approve them.

  • On "Build instead of renting": "Build this app and start saving" on each app card and at the foot of the page.
  • On a workflow design: "Post this as a project".

If you are signed in

The link opens the AI interview about that idea or design. The interview page says "This interview is about" and its name.

  1. Press "Start an interview about" the idea or design.
  2. The first question names it and asks which tool you use today, what data it holds, what must stay with a person, and what "done" looks like.
  3. Answer as usual, then press "Propose projects now". The first proposal is about the idea or design.

If you already have an interview open, the page asks you to finish or close it first, then open the link again.

If you are not signed in

The link opens the project form with a description already written in "What do you want done?". You can change it. When you post, the project remembers where it came from.

Your projects page then shows "Continue: interview about" the idea or design. A 15-minute interview turns it into a brief shaped to your business. Approve it and an intern is assigned automatically.

Automatic matching

Once you approve the proposal, and the facts the intern needs are confirmed, we assign the learner whose capstone was approved first and who is free. You both get an email with each other's contact.

If no intern is free, the project waits and you see "No intern is free right now. We will email you the moment one is assigned." See Matching and the waiting message.

If the idea or design is gone

"That app idea or workflow is no longer on our site, so this is a plain interview." The interview still works; it is just not about that idea.

  • Build instead of renting, and the savings calculator

App ideas to replace software you rent, each with an estimated saving worked out from assumed numbers that you can change to your own.

  • The workflow library

Designs for the jobs a small business does every week, by business type and by department, each with the agent's steps, the human checks and the data it needs. Pick one and post it as a project.

  • Matching and the waiting message

How an intern is matched to your project, automatically for idea and workflow projects and by hand otherwise, and what "No intern is free right now" means.
