The completion fee and the Earnings page

We pay you $50 for each internship you complete with a written review of at least 40 characters, by bank transfer or PayPal within 30 days. Where to see it and how to tell us where to send it.

We pay you $50 for each internship you complete with a written review of the intern's work. It is a programme fee for your time: the check-ins you read, the approvals, the review and the letter. It is not income we promise.

What earns the fee

  • You complete the internship from its project page.
  • The "Note" you write when you complete it is your written review. It must be at least 40 characters: a few sentences about the intern's work.
  • The internship did not end early.

The fee is per completed internship, not per intern. A review written only to collect the fee does not earn it.

How it is paid

When the fee is recorded, we email you "Completion fee recorded" with the intern's name. Reply to that email with where to send it: the account name, bank, routing and account number, or the email address of your PayPal account. There is no form for this on the site.

We pay by bank transfer or PayPal within 30 days of completion. You are responsible for any tax on what you receive.

The Earnings page

Open "Earnings" in the dashboard menu. The page is called "Completion fees".

  • Two totals: "Pending" (recorded and waiting to be paid) and "Paid".
  • "Fees": one row per fee, with the trainee, the date completed, the amount, the status ("Pending", "Paid" or "Void") and the date paid.
  • "Closed without a fee": internships that did not earn one, with the reason.

No fee? The reasons

  • "No fee: the internship ended early."
  • "No fee: the written review was shorter than 40 characters." Write to us with a few sentences about the trainee's work and we will add the review and the fee.
  • "The fee is being recorded." Refresh the page in a minute.

Changes to the fee

We may change the fee for internships that start after we publish a new version of the Business Agreement, never for one already under way.
